For me the rino 120 is an upgrade from the etrex. I receive no problems similar a circumstances of you are mentioning. Mic works great, it works groovy with my Motorolas and I could send my positioning to another rino user utilising the GMRS range. Individual remarked It's a genuine hassle to register with the FCC for the GMRS use. Expire to FCC.com fill away two little forms and pay $$ fee which is good for 5 years and they ship you your license and call sign.
